I have five favorite movies. So to spare myself the agony of picking one, I'll just list my top five for you here (in no particular order).

Do I have a favorite book? I think I have many. How is one supposed to choose just one? I think that the agony of choosing my favorite must somehow be akin to that of a parent choosing which child they love best.

Chariots of Fire I loved while growing up but when I saw it last year again I utterly amazed at the conversations - the dialogue is so deep and Liddell's person and faith are shown in so many good dimensions. I don't know if any one even could make a movie like that now.
Man From Snowy River - I think it was the music that I really liked in that (when I was about 14).
Court Jester - my nephew memorized the whole "...jester unenmployed is nobody's fool..." song and did the act at his Grandma's (my mother-in-law) 70th birthday this year. The Grandparents, the uncles, aunts and cousins were dying of laughter (he had every facial expression down!).
